The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem.
I would like to invite you to change the word “problem” for “challenge” but that would change his quotation. I suggest you do it in your head. I also suggest that you eliminate the word problem from your vocabulary and replace it with the word challenge or opportunity. It gives it a whole different vibration and feel.
p.s. We all have things in life that challenge us. It is how we deal and face these opportunities. I call them opportunities because they open doors for change. Better ways to do things. Different ways to view things. You know the expression “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” and many of us may say at this point – I’m strong enough – thank you!
Maybe strong enough – but what about what these events do to your personality and character when you keep going and getting through. Doesn’t that feel good!! Doesn’t your confidence get boosted? Now you know you CAN!! I love the quote by Ford, If you think you can’t, you’re right, if you think you can, your right. Instead of hiding from it or ignoring it which doesn’t feel so good in the end. That feels little.
You know how the saying goes…anticipation is harder than expectation. That is so true. When I get to that place, I keep putting the thing that I’m anticipating in a negative way into a positive spin. Harvest the good – and if I can’t do that I just keep letting it go each time it comes into my mind. Let it go, give it a prayer, wrap it in something beautiful and keep releasing it to its good outcome. Then rebuild it. Create it as you want it to be – use all your senses to visualize it. See yourself in it – living it, knowing it will happen – release it to the Universe and as Dr. Michael Beckwith says “And so it is.”
Bottom line here is whatever you believe is what you will experience in your life. And Ford says it so simply. This realization has changed my life. This is the only difference between those who accomplish things and those that don’t. Of course there are physical limitations. I will never be a football player or an opera singer because I don’t have those gifts, but when you desire to be or to do something the seed of that is in you, don’t dismiss it. Pay attention to that. You couldn’t have the thought or desire come to you if you couldn’t achieve it.
