Here Are Some More Ideas In This Second Of A Series On Motivation:

2. Use Tools To Help You. Part 2 of 2

Your Vision

Your Vision

Use pictures and a vision board. What you focus on, grows! Cut out pictures of the things you want in life and glue them on a poster board. Hang it over your desk or keep it where you will see it often. This keeps you visually tuned to your dreams and desires. When you engage as many parts of your mind and senses as you can the information goes deeper and easier in your being. This is why action items encompass reading, writing, pictures, visualization and speaking.

A vital aspect is choosing what you think about. Your mind is a tool. You have the ability to choose good thoughts or not so good thoughts. It is a choice. I will say it again -- What you focus on, grows! Be aware of what you are saying to yourself -- become aware of your thoughts and when you find yourself thinking something negative, just say "next" and immediately replace it with something positive. You will soon begin to realize that those negative thoughts do not have logic behind them. I like what Esther Hicks says over and over and it works for me when I get stuck in some unproductive places, she says, "find a better feeling thought, find a better feeling thought, find a better feeling thought." She also says "Feel as good as you can about that and that and that." The repetition of it helps to plant it in the mind.

Listen To A Coaching Program

Listen To A Coaching Program

Use positive programs to help you stay motivated. Use the ones that are targeted on the subjects of your goals. This will give you more information to draw from. Information moves me forward and the more I know the more I can advance. The more I know the more ideas come to me. It enhances your creativity.  It is not just about the goals that you seek -- it is about the person that you become on the journey. You must remember this. I get frustrated because I feel that I should be at a certain place in my development so I remind myself it is about the journey and who I am becoming which is a better, stronger version of myself. I've adopted the quote "I may not be where I want to be but thank Goodness I'm not where I was."

I used to reach material goals and just say to myself, ok, I've got it -- now what? In the end it was fun to have what I worked for and wanted, but the gain of the material soon fell flat. It is about who you become, what you learn, who comes into your life and ultimately your relationships.

Use books and seminars and digital products related to personal growth, encouragement, and learning about what you need to know to develop your business. Be prepared to spend time in developing yourself. This is a process.

Clutter Control

Clutter Control

Keep your home and office free of clutter. Clutter drains energy. It confuses the mind. For me clutter control is an evolving process. Clutter is a big topic these days. (note to self - write a blog about clutter control).

Keep an eye out for that blog on clutter control! I think it will be a help!

Dear Judith M, I am really impressed with the work you are doing. The to do list works well for me. My problem is that I expect too much from myself. It's hard for me to realize I am not able to accomplish as much in one day as I did twenty years ago!!!! Also, I really need to include on my to do list something to do for ME. I am quite certain other people share my challenge. Deborah

I am very pleased to know that this is helping you Deborah! Don't be hard on you - doing what you can each day, but try to stretch those "to do" muscles without stressing out. When we are out of our comfort zone is when we grow. Yes, absolutely you must include doing something nice for yourself even little rewards go a long way.
